Volunteering

Why Volunteer?

There are many benefits to taking some time out of your everyday life to help someone else or the environment. Volunteering is an unpaid activity that aims to enhance the wider community through individual or a series of service projects.

Through volunteering you will:

  • Develop team working and leadership skills

  • Have a great sense of achievement and that you’ve made a difference

  • Meet new people who share similar interests and passions

  • Have a chance to explore and become a more integral part of your community

How can I find opportunities to volunteer?

We have a dedicated Volunteering and Community Engagement Team, aimed at encouraging volunteering among students, they will support your efforts to impact the wider community and university.

Through the volunteering website and careers website you can find hundreds of opportunities to volunteer across Greater Manchester.

You can also talk to the volunteering team in a drop in session in The Atrium University Place, on Mondays 12pm - 1pm and Wednesdays 1pm - 2pm.
