Whether you’re interested in a career in the military or not, the Armed Forces training programme teaches you valuable life skills to take with you after graduation. Although many members do go on to pursue a military career, the programme also teaches you valuable life skills that will boost your CV and look great on job applications. The skills include:
-Leadership and teamwork skills
-Problem solving and thinking on your feet
-Making decisions under pressure
-Managing a team
By joining one of the three training programmes, you will not only develop your military knowledge and practical abilities, but also have the chance to participate in adventurous training opportunities such as skiing, mountain trekking, climbing and abseiling. There are also a number of sporting activities held throughout the programmes, including informal contests between the units and annual sporting events.
There is also a strong social element to every programme, from formal mess dinners to parties and informal social events there are plenty of opportunities to mingle with your unit and meet new people throughout the year.
